Trauma Informed Care

The purpose of the Regional Partnership Grant 4 (RPG4) Program is to provide healing and supportive services to children and their families in 10 northwest Iowa counties that have experienced trauma due to substance use and addiction by their parents or caregivers.

This program implements evidence-based practices and support services in order to benefit the child, parent, and family unit. These include:

  • Parent-Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Screening and Assessments: Trauma, Mental Health, and Substance Use
  • Clinical Care Coordination
  • Service Engagement: Trauma Informed Care Coordinators
  • Therapeutic Respite Care Services


The Trauma Informed Care Coordination services are currently available in the following counties:
Calhoun, Carroll, Cherokee, Ida, Monona, Plymouth, Pocahontas, Sac, and Woodbury

The purpose of the Regional Partnership Grant 5 (RPG5) Program is to create a family-focused model of care to meet the complex needs of families who are suffering from a number of challenges, including abuse, trauma, and substance use.

This program brings healing and permanency by providing families and caregivers with skill-building, family therapy, intensive family case management, and other support services to prevent out-of-home placements, as well as improve the well-being of children who are currently in foster care or have been adopted. Services include:

  • Parent-Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • WISE UP
  • Seeking Safety
  • Parenting Wisely
  • Parent Child Attunement Therapy (PCAT)


The Trauma Informed Care Coordination services are currently available in the following counties:
Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Sioux, and Woodbury.
