Internships and Practicums
Psychology Internship and PracticumSeasons Center for Behavioral Health promotes an evidenced-based practitioner-scholar model in order to serve the unique needs of Northwest Iowa. Interns will gain a wide variety of experience serving the needs of a clinically underserved population. The internship program is designed to train highly capable and knowledgeable mental health professionals by preparing interns to provide a wide range of services. We encourage interns to integrate clinical practice and science by utilizing clinical research and theory to guide clinical thinking and evidence-based practice. The Training Director and other staff psychologists provide clinical supervision that is customized to match the intern’s skill level and development goals over the course of the training year.
The clinical internship program at Seasons Center involves the following:
- Preparation in becoming an effective and competent entry-level practitioner.
- Integrative health care and working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Providing clinical services to an underserved population.
- Special emphasis on providing evidence-based practices and psychological testing.
The internship program is consistent with the American Psychological Association’s 2010 Ethical Standard 7.04 (Student Disclosure of Personal Information) as contained in the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct (APA, 2010).
